Communication is the process by which a communicator is able to communicate the message to the audience and the audience is able to completely assimilate the original context.
In communication there is a sender (the one who is delivering the message) and the receiver (to whom the message has been delivered). The message passes through an external environment.
Technically speaking, there are three processes to a communication viz. thought, encoding and decoding. First a thought or an idea generates in the mind, these thoughts and ideas are then encoded in verbal or textual form and these thoughts and ideas are finally decoded by the receiver.
If different receiver decodes the message differently, then the original texture takes a beating and everything looks hazy.
The message needs to be communicated in such a way that the receiver should be able to properly comprehend the actual meaning of the message.
Communication can be verbal or written. During verbal communication apart from the words the audience also takes note of the communicator’s tone of voice, his body language, his hand gestures and his overall attitude-these all constitutes non-verbal communication.
Having proper eye-contact with the audience gives an impression that the speaker is giving lots of importance to the audience. Use of simple words, words which penetrates deep into the heart of the audience, creates a lasting impression in the receivers mind.
Proper variation in the tone of the voice as per the context of the message is very much desired; do not be too fast or too slow while speaking. Too fast a communication makes the audience misunderstand you, while if you are too slow then the audience will soon get bored and you will lose their attention.
Communication is a two way process, hence, feedback is an important ingredient of effective communication. The communicator should be earnest enough to know what actually the receiver feels about his message; and with all sincerity accept the verdict.
You might think you have used the best sentences, the best words, the best phrases but if the receiver fails to understand your ‘best’ then it’s best to through your ‘best’ into the best dustbin.
There are certain barriers to communication which need to be taken into account; as its proper understanding may help the speaker to understand the audience in a much better way before he actually starts communicating.
Understanding the culture of the audience is of great importance, some gestures or some words may be unacceptable in certain culture.
Many times the audiences carry some pre-conceived idea about something which needs to be dealt with very carefully. It is only through proper communication that a leader is able to effectively lead.
While speaking, be warm, friendly and approachable; always carry an eye-catching smile on your face, speak lively, always use comfortable words, try to grab the attention of the audience by using some interesting quotes on leadership or phrases but never deviate from the original topic.
A leader should be able to properly lead his team by always giving the members the right direction, by always motivating them and by communicating properly with them.

How can you be sure that financial statements within a company are accurate? Audited financial statements, which have been prepared by an independent Certified Public Accountant (CPA) on behalf of a business or non-profit organization, are used to provide financial accountability and accuracy to a company’s stakeholders. The documents used by an accountant to prepare audited financial statements are provided by the company, and include various financial documents such as accounts receivable/payable documents, budgets, expense reports. The CPA examines documents which support figures within the financial reports, assesses the overall accounting principles used, and evaluates the overall financial document presentation. From this information the CPA creates an audited financial statement.
Within the audited financial statement, the certified public accountant provides an opinion, either qualified or unqualified, about the nature of the financial documents. An unqualified opinion in an audited financial statement indicates that the CPA is in agreement with the methods used by the company to prepare their financial documents. The audit is found to be accurate, complete and fairly presented to meet the requirements of the US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). The audit provides the CPA a reasonable basis for their opinion that the financial statements are free of material misstatements or false/missing information.
A qualified opinion indicates that the CPA is not in agreement with aspects of the financial statements and/or methods used to prepare their financial documents. A qualified opinion indicates that the CPA is not confident that the financial statements are correct or accurate.
Occasionally an opinion will not be given within an audited financial statement. This could be due to the fact that there were insignificant documents available to properly prepare the audit, or there were issues that need to be addressed before evaluating the accuracy of the financial documents. A lack of opinion usually indicates that a company needs to improve their accounting practices so they can meet the requirements of the US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Neil Rischall is the CPA behind the CPABookkeepers site which has a wealth of information about audited financial statements as well as all services provided by a Certified Public Accountant.

Cape let is most demanded design in modern times. There are different patterns of this caplet. Cape let is also called as cape or collar. If you want to knit capelet then you can design your own type of capelet by your favorite yarn, color. In this you can vary the length of the capelet or you can add the collar to any capelet and you will get the different type of it.
This pattern is hand knit capelet pattern. For this you have to knit from neck to ham down. For this purpose make use of the circular needle. if you wants the collar caplet then you can attach roll collar of about 1.5″. To design this capelet you have to measure basically three lengths which are neck opening, shoulder width and front length.
This caplet needs approximately 20 gram balls of mohair yarn in which each ball had about 90 meters of yarn. For knitting you should have minimum one circular needle which must be sufficiently long so as to hold all the stitches at the hem of the cape. For this purpose you need 16″ near the neck and around 24″ near the hem.
The main characteristic of this caplet are as follows:
While knitting you have to knit from neck to hem in down word direction with the help of circular needle. For this cape collar is optional if you want collar for your neck then attach near about 15″.Now close it tightly close with idiot cord. Stitch the ending of edge, front and border. Level front and back by short shaping near the border. The back neck must be raised with the same shaping method. According to your body or fitting you have to take proper measurements.
To give the pattern or shape to your caplet enter your stitch as well as row gauge. When you are well worth with the knitting the try for these patterns but yet this is the simplest pattern among the all.
This pattern has around 8 increased rays and about 2 shoulder darts. On back side also you have to knit around 4 decreased rays. Place around 10 stitch markers to locate the rays. For further reference label them as 1f, 2f, 3f for front side and same for back side as 2b, 1b, etc. while knitting down you have to increase about one stitch on both the sides for each stitch marker for every 6 rows.
For this just go on stitching across the unit on stitch lefts before the marker. Skipping this marker again go on stitching and continue it. For this learn to stitch odd number now increase knit from both the sides as well as purl side of the fabric. For purl the same procedure you have to repeat as mentioned above.
When your cape become sufficiently long so as to cover up your shoulder then stop it increasing further. Except this keep knitting for border side. But just before hem you have to work for the short rows so as to level back and front properly. In this pattern the back is longer than front.
After completing this short row you will complete the knitting for your capelet and your new pattern caplet is ready to use.
There has always been a creative appetite in mankind. To unfold this creativity, one could create thousands of designs which are really eye catching. One may mix and match the diverse colors of yarns available in the market and create their unique designs. These designs should move with the current fashion trends and at the same time easy to understand and create.

Comparing martial arts films of the 1970s to the action blockbusters of 2009/10
Red Cliff, Ip Man and True Legend are already iconic of the early 21st century “martial arts films”-although many can argue they are more action spectacle than true “kung fu” films. The 1970s, on the other hand, didn’t rely on eye-candy effects and were defined more by the true grit of its martial arts actors: Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, the Five Venoms, Tomisaburo Wakayama, Jimmy Wong, and other real fighters trained in genuine kung fu, karate and other arts.
Martial Arts Becomes Mainstream But Evolves Into Spectacle
Cult classics such as Enter the Dragon helped change Hollywood. Its growing popularity forced filmmakers to adopt martial arts into the formula of the “action flick.” Through the eighties and nineties, spectacle thrillers were expected to deliver “the fight moves”, even if it was only a few basic moves supported by some stuntmen and wires. Action movies became spectacles that required equal blends of story, drama, pace, “kung fu”, special effects and improbable plot twists.
In the 21st century, this became less “equal” with films relying first on special effects, then improbably plot twists (surprise is important, right?), followed by pace, martial arts skills, drama and-last and possibly least today-story. This trend extended even to the hot movies of the last few years, including Kung Fu Panda, Forbidden Kingdom, G.I. Joe and even the Transformers.
Asian Film Industry Threatens to Out-Spectacle Hollywood
With the full support and weight of China’s cultural industries, Asian film has blossomed into mainstream spectacles in high demand, led by CGI treats such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, House of Flying Daggers and other instant classics. Arguably, Asian film long ago surpassed Hollywood for imagination, with the western producers buying rights to several hugely successful Asian films. With the largest population demographic in the world, there can be no doubt that Chinese films are set to dominate the film industry in years to come.
Red Cliff and Ip Man are perhaps the best known of these new hit-classics, but the rumor mills and fansites are buzzing with all the latest “coming soon” gossip. The big buz movies in 2010 is True Legend (Su Qi Er), starring Zhao Wen-Zho as the historical Begger Su, the originator of drunken kung fu. Donnie Yen returns in both part 2 of the Ip Man saga and in the much anticipated 14 Blades. Chow Yun-Fat breaks the mold and surprises everyone in his role as Confucius.
Both Hollywood and Asia Rely on CGI and Special Effects
The growing spectacle and importance of the “action film” is both enjoyable to the escapist and annoying for the aficionado of the true martial arts. While the actors in many of the films-in particular Asian films-are genuine martial artists (for example, Donnie Yen, Jet Li and Chow Yun-Fat)-the over-dependence on CGI and elaborate choreography turns the adventure into comic book. With notable exceptions, such as Ip Man and Tony Jaa in Ong Bak (and to a lesser extent Ong Bak 2 and 3), most action films rely on the “wow” factor of dazzling camera angles and computer-aided “enhancements.”
Ninja Assassin and the Cross-Over
There are, to be sure, cross-over films such as Ninja Assassin, where actor Rain trained 14 hours a day for months to perfect real martial arts moves (albeit only a handful of repeated moves), blended together with rather Matrix-like special effects. To some, the beauty of the realistic CGI takes away from the pleasure of watching well-choreographed real martial arts.
Ong Bak, on the other hand, led by genuine martial arts expert Tony Jaa, got by on solid martial arts and good choreography. No stuntmen, thank you. Tony Jaa was hailed as the “next Bruce Lee” for this reason, with much buzz and excitement in the martial arts community, and martial arts film fansites.
There’s No Escaping Escapism
Action films are, by design, escapist entertainment. They have become somewhat comic-book (pardon me, graphic novel), but that’s what most audiences do want. We want to forget reality.
Kill Bill and Kill Bill 2 probably came closest to the ideal mix for both the escapist fan and the martial arts practitioner-fan. While it wasn’t “real” by any means, and contained a brilliant and zesty blend of satire, comic-book, spoof, and choreography, it never-the-less nostalgically hearkened back to the wondrous days of Enter the Dragon and the classic Japanese Samarai films of the 70s.
Japanese Film Stays True to Martial Arts Traditions?
Perhaps the film industry most aligned with the older traditions of martial arts film making is Japan. Zatoichi, the Blind Swordsman, was a low-budget film, that became an instant cult classic. Zatoichi took movie audiences back to the classic real-sword skills of the old Samarai films of the earlier decades, and spawned video games and an entire industry.
Less is More? Where is the Real Martial Arts Skill?
Genuine martial arts actors still abound-led by superstars such as Donnie Yen and Jet Li-and most Chinese martial arts actors are proficient. In Hollywood, the film-makers opt for four-move choreography (two kicks, a block and a punch), multiple camera angles (particularly close ups when the skills of the martial artist are not genuine), pounding music, FX, and stuntmen. With the old hopefuls gone from the Hollywood big screen-Chuck Norris, Jean Claude Van Damme and the other promising real martial artists-there’s now a world of difference between Asian film actors-who work in frigid cold, fourteen hours a day in often primitive conditions, hammering out genuinely complex martial arts moves for relatively paltry paychecks-and Hollywood films that now rely on computer and actor stand-ins.
Batman Now Does Kung Fu
Batman now does kung fu, and so does G.I. Joe, and even Hellboy. They’re fun, but the martial artist fan misses the great luminaries of martial arts films who built their careers on the “real thing”: Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, David Chiang, Sonny Chiba, Chen Kuan-tai, Tomisaburo Wkayama, Jimmy Wong Yu, Ti Lung and the Liu brothers.

Microsoft Dynamics GP, successor of Great Plains Software Dynamics and eEnterprise is very popular ERP platform, deployed as accounting back office and integrated with various business management system. Among the most typical scenarios of GP MRP integration are Electronic Document Interface EDI and eCommerce. Let’s consider and compare the methodologies, integration and software development tools, programming techniques and customization option
1. EDI. Electronic Document Interchange is relatively matured technology and typically it is realized in the form of fixed length text formatted files or text streams. Newer approach may consider new generation of similar to EDI in concept XML streams. When we are talking about GP, we should expect two types of EDI integrations – when you are vendor (in this case you receive EDI formatted either Sales Order Processing orders or invoices or Accounts Receivables invoices); and when you are customer (in this case you place EDI purchase orders to your vendors). From the technology standpoint, EDI is not really difficult in standard and even custom realization and programming. Microsoft Dynamics GP, starting with version 8.0, is supported on the only DB platform – Microsoft SQL Server. Current version of Microsoft Great Plains is 10.0, available on MS SQL Server 2005 or 2000. You program EDI streams with SQL select command, and you format text fields with cast or convert constructions. When you import external EDI streams you, it is when you create SOP Invoices, you should consider utilizing eConnect
2. eCommerce. If you are e-commerce programmer, please invest your time in eConnect technology learning. You probably heard about eConnect and about the fact that it was dedicated initially to e-commerce software developers. We would like to sort of popularize eConnect and say this – if you do eCommerce integration from scratch, you have to feed eCommerce orders and invoices into GP tables: SOP10100, SOP10200. However, you should know that eConnect already has this job done for you in eConnect business objects – encrypted stored procedures. There are several situations when you should break through eConnect restrictions. First one is the fact that eConnect replicates Dexterity business logic (DYNAMICS.DIC is Microsoft Dexterity dictionary, where all the core modules business logic is stored) and even trusting astonishing SQL Server performance, you can still have concerns that eConnect might be a bit slow, if you transactions volume crosses thousand records per session. If eConnect performance is in question, you may consider doing simplified integration in SQL stored procedures using insert into logic. The second eConnect limitation is absence of posting logic – in order to post SOP batches you will need to deploy Albaspectrum posting server.

The Age-Old Problem: Cost Control
According to IBM, Gartner and Aberdeen Group, between 75-80% of invoices in any business or organisation, are still processed manually – despite the advent of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). These days, sophisticated invoice processing systems are available to cut a swathe through the time and costs involved in handling supplier payments and to enhance business workflow.
Invoice Processing: The Real Costs
With a manual system, hundreds – often thousands – of invoices must be reviewed and entered onto an accounting system, at massive cost in terms of labour, time and potential errors.
Byline Group’s research into Accounts Payable processing has shown that 90% of Accounts payable invoice processing involves keying data from paper; that the average time taken to process and Accounts Payable invoice is 12 days, and that 25% of all invoices are paid late.
Also according to Byline’s research an accounts payable clerk handles just 70 invoices per day on average. Thus it is easy to put a labour cost on the front end processing. But the repercussions are felt further down the line too.
Invoice Processing Solutions: Key Benefits
Invoice solutions comprise software to allow invoice processing to be speeded up massively. This has a great impact on reducing accounts admin costs associated with invoice processing and also enables companies to make best use of any time critical payment times which may attract supplier discounts.
Automated invoice systems allow a wide variety of typical invoices to be scanned at the same time and for them to be automatically reconciled against the original purchase order with minimal user intervention or data entry.
In essence, an invoice processing system uses sophisticated OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and data matching techniques.
Invoice Processing Solutions: The Basic Principal
The best invoice management solutions will automatically scan, extract and validate invoice data and feed directly to an accounting system. Invoices come in a multitude of formats, layouts and styles from a wide variety of different suppliers. They can be machine printed or part handwritten, single or multi-page, coloured or white paper, and come from home or abroad.
However, all of these can be handled simply by scanning in a seed invoice and selecting the items of information that you want to capture. This is done by defining a target zone for each of them; the system will automatically distinguish between the field label e.g. VAT amount and the associated value. If you now select the supplier name as a unique attribute of all such invoices, every invoice from this supplier can automatically be recognised and processed and the captured data sent straight to the accounting system.
Sophisticated Functionality
The challenges of identifying columns and lines of information, knowing where one item description ends and another begins, handwritten information, validation against almost any criteria or data values – all these are the remit of sophisticated invoice processing systems today.
Managing digitised invoices through the entire workflow approval process offers the potential for even greater efficiency and cost savings, and so it pays to check out software providers who can offer an interface with purchase-to-pay (P2P), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Electronic Content management (ECM) and Document Management (DM) to offer integrated workflow solutions.
Invoice Processing: Summary Benefits
- Removes the need to handle and store large volumes of paper
- Increases staff productivity and reduce processing costs
- Faster invoice processing improves supplier relationships
- More up-to-date position of the business/organisation’s financial position
- Reporting on all financial transactions assists with compliance to appropriate Accounting Standards

Microsoft Dynamics GP version 10.0 advanced such new technologies as eConnect in and this seems to be general trend to walk away from proprietary tools, such as Microsoft Dexterity to Microsoft specific platforms, such as .Net, COM+ and MS SQL Server Stored Procedures, as you know eConnect core contains encrypted stored procs. Historically Great Plains IM was based on OLE technology, where GP workstation was used as OLE server and business logic validation was done in GP forms, where OLE mechanism was entering fields values. Let’s take a look at new and traditional features available in IM version 10.0, it is in our opinion in transition to be rewritten completely in eConnect, but at this time it is available with both traditional and eConnect connectors:
1. eConnect connector. For GP consultants, you should be aware that eConnect connector requires specific company, if you remember how OLE connector works – it recognizes the company, from where you call Integration Manager and so you do not need to specify the company in integration settings. eConnect requires the company target to be specified. eConnect integration performance should be higher comparing to traditional connector, as eConnect doesn’t use slow OLE technology and imitates business logic (or in other words it replicates Dexterity functionality) in SQL stored procedures (which are performed on the server). Typical GP integrations involve Sales Order Processing module (this includes eCommerce scenarios) as well as Purchase Order Processing module (where you integrate EDI vendor invoices, for example) and at this time, GP IM 10.0 eConnect connector enables these integrations, which is very optimistic note
2. IM upgrade. Typical scenarios are when you are upgrading skipping two versions, let’s say from GP IM 7.5 to 10.0. In this scenario you need to do two steps upgrade – first to GP IM 9.0 and then to 10.0
3. VBA programming for Integration Manager. This technology may seem outdated as VBA was popular in late 1990th to automate MS Excel and MS Access type of scenarios. However VBA and Modifier modules are still available with Microsoft Dynamics GP purchase or upgrade. VBA scripting is event driven one, so you should review the options to alter IM business logic on pre and post integration, pre and post document. This article format is short and we can not give you sample VBA scripts here, however if you have development budget and would like to get advanced technical and programming help, we would be happy to assist you
4. GP IM advanced techniques. Translation technology. Each field is available for translation logic. You can load Excel translation table to IM directly. Translation logic allows you to map external item number id to your internal one, or in collection agency example it allows you to translate vendor it to customer id, as collection business is reversed one, where sales means collection
5. IM in cross platform integrations, here we need to stress ODBC standard and advanced integrations. Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005 linked server construction allows you to deploy either direct SQL select statement or OPENROWSET one. Now is you are coming from Oracle and Oracle EBusiness Suite world, similar integration concept is available from Oracle EDI. If you are on Linux Red Hut and PHP and MySQL, please consider ODBC bridge or appeal to Java technology. If you PHP is sitting on MS Windows platform you can deploy direct call to MS SQL Server 2005 or 2000
6. GP data conversion and Integration Manager. Legacy data massage, conversion, is available and IM usage is very helpful. Microsoft Dynamics GP offers IM installation or initial migration license, which is limited to the number of days
7. The most popular Integration Tables in Great Plains: SOP10100, SOP10200, RM00101, RM00102
8. Integration Manager and Great Plains Dexterity connections: DEX_ROW_ID is one of the most popular questions among the developers community. If you do direct SQL insert statement feed into GP tables, DEX_ROW_ID is outoincremental and so you don’t need to populate it
9. GP and MS CRM connector. It is outside of GP IM, so please do not be confused. MS CRM connection business is pretty much taken over by Scribe Software, so please check with these folks first. Also, SAP Business One is very popular small business ERP and MRP (Manufacturing module and extensions) platform, where you can have Microsoft CRM to be integrated. From Microsoft Dynamics CRM side you can use SQL views and stored procedures to store exported data in the custom database, and from SB1 side you use Sap B1 SDK to program SB1 integrated objects: Sales Orders or Sales Invoices
10. XML Web Service Approach. As XML is in essence text, it is the platform independent data (or text files) stream. To open Web Service to UNIX client, from GP side you typically involve C3 or VB.Net developer
11. IM closing remarks. Great Plains Integration Manager is both end user and developer friendly tool. If you are VBA or Microsoft.Net programmer you should be able to build sound integration on IM platform. eConnect will more likely be the main IM transformation technology, so if you are deploying IM integrating techniques, you should follow eConnect news

Certified Professional Accountants (CPAs) are more than just individuals who do your yearly taxes. They can advise you on a long list of other services, which may include advice on your accounting system, financial, retirement, estate and tax planning. CPAs are part of a business owner’s professional team along with a banker and lawyer. Here are some suggestions on choosing the right one for you and your business.
• Ask for recommendations
Your local Chamber of Commerce will tell you the names of CPAs who are members. Also, when you attend any type of meeting, or meet other business owners, ask for CPA recommendations from them. Or if that doesn’t work for you start your research at a Accounting organization website
• Use the 60% rule
Pick a CPA who has 60% of his or her business coming from business owners such as yourself. A CPA is more apt to keep up with the laws specific to clients they deal with most often. If your business is incorporated, make sure that the person specializes in corporate accounting, including financial statements and audits.
• Interview CPAs
Ask what type of services they do for their clients, how long they’ve been in business full time, and for references. Don’t forget to ask to see their license. Ask them about the benefits of choosing them over another CPA.
• Rates
Ask about their rates and what those rates include. If they have a rate chart, all the better. Also, ask what their hourly rate is and what the cost would be to answer questions during the year.
• Ask about record keeping
Ask what computer program they prefer you use for your record keeping and why they prefer that program. Many times, if you use the program they suggest, it can save you some money because they can use your data files. Some even have programs they’ll set up especially for you.
• Bring your records to the interview
Bring a copy of last year’s tax return when you interview a CPA. This way your prospective CPA can give you educated estimates as to what their services will cost you.
• How to file
If you want to save some money, ask how they want your paper files. If you bring your files to them in shoe boxes – hey, many folks do – you will pay to have all that material organized and deciphered! You can save money if you separate the information the way the CPA suggests.
• Corporation vs. individual
Are you interested in hiring a corporation of CPAs or a CPA that has his or her own business? If you opt for the corporation, find out if you’ll be dealing with one particular person, or will it be whoever answers the phone when you call. It’s best to build a relationship with one person.
• When do they work?
What are their hours of operation? Make sure that you can call them at hours that are convenient for you.
• Making a decision
Interview at least three CPAs. Don’t rush this decision. Make sure you have the best CPA and bookkeeper for you and your business. Build long term relationships with both.
